“Gold and Black – The Symbiosis of Contrasts” – a new exhibition at Norblin Factory

We invite you to a new painting exhibition, “Gold and Black: The Symbiosis of Contrasts,” prepared by the Warsaw Association of Visual Artists. Presented in the Plater Building on level +1, the exhibition is an artistic dialogue by 27 creators engaging with one of the most symbolic colour pairings in the history of art.

From 5 February to 5 March 2026, the Plater space (+1) at Norblin Factory will become a place to encounter painting that explores tensions and relationships between gold and black—colours that are extreme yet mutually complementary. The exhibition brings together 28 paintings by 27 artists of the Warsaw Association of Visual Artists, offering individual interpretations of a shared theme.

Black, understood as a space of silence, depth and contemplation, is juxtaposed with gold—a symbol of light, the sacred and transcendence. In the presented works, this contrast does not lead to conflict but to a harmonious coexistence in which opposites reinforce one another. The artists move between abstraction and symbolic narrative, creating autonomous painterly statements that together form a cohesive curatorial concept.

The limited colour palette intensifies expression and directs the viewer’s attention to structure, gesture, rhythm, and the relationship between light and shadow. The exhibition invites close observation and reflection on the nature of contrasts—in art and in everyday experience—as elements that jointly create a fullness of meaning.

The exhibition opening (vernissage) is scheduled for 5 February 2026 at 6:30 PM. The exhibition is open to the public and will be accessible to all visitors for four weeks.
