Starting today (September 19, 2025), the immersive exhibition “Romantic Chopin” can be visited at Art Box Experience in Fabryka Norblina. It is the first multimedia project of such scale in Poland dedicated to the country’s greatest composer, Fryderyk Chopin, prepared by Art Box Experience in cooperation with the Fryderyk Chopin Institute. The project combines cutting-edge technologies with classical artistic techniques, creating an extraordinary experience at the intersection of art, music, history, and modern storytelling.
Nearly two years in the making, the exhibition was designed for a wide audience—not only music lovers but also families with children and school groups. Visitors journey through eight thematic spaces that trace Chopin’s life and work: from Żelazowa Wola, through Warsaw and Vienna, to Paris. Original watercolors by Beata Musiał-Tomaszewska, brought to life with stop-motion animation, period materials, and historical maps create a unique visual backdrop.
At the heart of the exhibition is an immersive hall, where a 30-minute show allows guests to dive into Chopin’s music while admiring metaphorical images inspired by his works. The entire exhibition is accompanied by a personal narration based on Chopin’s letters, told in the first person—as if the composer himself were recounting his life. One scene features the famous PZLPiT “Mazowsze” ensemble, representing the folk motifs central to Chopin’s music.
The exhibition also offers interactive experiences—touching a cast of Chopin’s hand triggers fragments of his compositions, while a multimedia tree introduces key figures from his life. In the VR room, created by Platige Image, visitors embark on a poetic journey through romantic landscapes and cosmic spaces.
The display is complemented by a section dedicated to the International Chopin Piano Competition and a series of piano concerts that will be held every two weeks starting October 5 in the immersive hall. Special themed tours for adults, families, and children will also accompany the exhibition.
“Romantic Chopin is more than an exhibition—it’s an emotional journey and a tribute to one of the greatest composers. We wanted every visitor, regardless of age or musical background, to feel a connection to Chopin and his era,” says Joanna Sikora-Kowalkowska, CEO of Art Box Experience.
“This is a modern approach to sharing cultural heritage—a digital counterpoint to the Chopin Museum’s exhibition, allowing even more people to discover his work,” adds Dr. Aleksander Laskowski, spokesperson for the Fryderyk Chopin Institute.
The exhibition will be on view at Art Box Experience in Fabryka Norblina (Plater building, Level +2) until January 31, 2026. Details, opening hours, and tickets are available: www.artboxexperience.com.
