Norblin Factory invites you to the Night of Museums!

The Warsaw Night of Museums starts on May 13. Norblin Factory also invites you to visit its spaces on this special weekend.

As part of this year’s event, Norblin Factory Museum will open its doors to visitors after dark. It is 2 hectares of post-industrial land in the heart of Warsaw’s Wola district, where the past intertwines with the present, and monuments permeate the urban space. There are 10 historic buildings, 50 machines and devices, as well as a collection of over 400 silverware. In the background, there are eminent families who led to the splendor of the former plant at Żelazna Street.

Visitors can be guided through 240 years of the factory’s history by a guide, a free application or printed materials. Groups will start from 19:00 and every 20 minutes – until midnight. The starting point is the Burdening Hall on level 0 in the Plater building, the entrance to which is from Ludwik Norblin Street. At 21:00 a guided tour in Ukrainian will begin.

In addition, our guests will be able to watch the film “The Last Change” directed by Jacek Prusiński, presenting the last working hours of the factory in 1981, and the premiere of the recording “Stefan Wieliński – singing steelworker” with the memories of one of the employees of the former Metal Rolling Mill in Warsaw.

During the Night of Museums, an additional transport will circulate between the technical museums in Wola – the old and popular Ikarus. The bus will make loops on the route: Norblin Factory Museum – Museum of the Warsaw Gasworks – Museum Station – Norblin Factory Museum.

At Apple Museum Poland, in addition to the permanent exhibition, visitors will be able to try their hand at coding on the first Apple computers. The museum will also be visited by a special guest – prof. dr hab. Wiesław Kuźmicz from the Institute of Microelectronics and Optoelectronics. The conversation about the beginnings of coding on Macintoshes at the Warsaw University of Technology will be led by the curator and founder of the museum, Jacek Łupina. Guests will also see the first Macintosh, which was illegally imported to Poland in 1984. The promoter has also planned a contest with prizes that night. The tour starts at 18:00.

Also on May 13, the exhibition opening the art space at Norblin Factory will have its premiere. On level +1 of the Plater building until September 24, visitors will be able to see art in a “phygital” idea. The promoter of this unique event – on*arte platform – combines the digital world with a physical, sensual experience. In the historical spaces of Norblin Factory, an exhibition full of works of art will be created, accessible not only to the eyes, but also to the senses. The same objects that can be experienced physically will be available for purchase in the digital space, on the onarte.pl platform. On*arte collections are diverse and eclectic, combining different styles and tastes, inviting you to a fascinating game of art. You will be able to find out about it from 18:00. The premiere of the exhibition in the unique interiors of Norblin Factory will be an opportunity to delve into the world of art through conversations with artists and through interaction with an educational tool designed especially for the exhibition.
