On May 14, a new exhibition titled “A Head for a Poster” by Marcin Władyka – graphic designer, artist and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw – will open in the exhibition space of the Plater building at Norblin Factory.
The exhibition presents a selection of works by an author who combines design practice with teaching and curatorial activity. Władyka is a graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (diploma in the poster studio of Prof. Mieczysław Wasilewski) and currently runs his own design studios, educating future generations of graphic designers.
He specialises in visual identity, editorial design and motion design. His portfolio includes projects for cultural institutions, public administration and commercial clients. Among his most recognisable works are the visual identity of the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition and designs created for institutions and events such as the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, the National Institute of Music and Dance, and the “Solidarity of Arts” Festival.
The artist is a recipient of numerous awards in graphic design competitions, a jury member and curator of exhibitions, and a long-time member of the Programme Council of the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw. He is also a member of the Association of Applied Graphic Designers (STGU).
The exhibition marks another stage of Marcin Władyka’s collaboration with Norblin Factory. The results of the student project “Re-open the Gate” can still be seen on level -2 of the parking area. He previously organised the poster competition “A nuż, widelec” and co-organised the Stefan Norblin poster exhibition in 2024.
