Dino Experience is now open! The prehistoric world comes to life at Art Box Experience

What was the world of the dinosaurs like, and how do scientists reconstruct its history? From 25 September, Art Box Experience at Norblin Factory is hosting DINO EXPERIENCE – an immersive exhibition that combines the latest technologies with palaeontological knowledge. The exhibition was created in collaboration with the Institute of Palaeobiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and one of its most important exhibits is an authentic tarbosaurus skull, on display to the general public for the first time.

DINO EXPERIENCE takes visitors on a journey to a world from millions of years ago. The exhibition comprises eight zones, including six interactive ones, utilising, amongst other things, augmented reality, installations that respond to movement and gestures, and simulated palaeontological excavations. The centrepiece of the exhibition is a 20-minute immersive show that depicts three periods of the Mesozoic Era and offers an insight into the changes taking place in prehistoric ecosystems.

A particular highlight is the authentic skull of a tarbosaurus, a large predatory dinosaur that lived at the end of the Cretaceous period in what is now Asia. The exhibit comes from the collections of the Institute of Palaeobiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences and is linked to historic Polish-Mongolian palaeontological expeditions to the Gobi Desert. Thanks to collaboration with scientists from the Polish Academy of Sciences, the exhibition not only presents the prehistoric world but also demonstrates how researchers use fossils to reconstruct the appearance of ancient animals and the environments in which they lived.

An integral part of the DINO EXPERIENCE is also an educational programme for nurseries and schools, developed under the supervision of specialists from the Institute of Palaeobiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. During sessions with an educator, children and young people will learn the secrets of palaeontologists’ work, discover how fossils are formed, and find out what we can deduce from the preserved remains of prehistoric organisms.

The Portuguese studio OCUBO, which specialises in creating immersive experiences, is responsible for the concept and production of the exhibition. The Minister of Education has assumed honorary patronage of the DINO EXPERIENCE.

The DINO EXPERIENCE can be viewed at Art Box Experience in the Norblin Factory until 14 February 2027.
